Biography

MARKÉTA BÖHMOVÁ

She began her career as a singer in Kantiléna choir and a chorus singer in numerous performances of the National Theatre Brno in the Czech Republic and abroad (including theater touring in Austria, England, Japan).

During her studies at the Faculty of Education at Masaryk University she cooperated with Collegium Musicum orchestra and in 2014 she studied under the leadership and supervision of prof. Alda Caiello at the State Conservatory of Campobasso, Italy. In the same year she participated in Antonín Dvořák International Singing Competition - 2014 in Karlovy Vary, where she received two special awards, Prize for interpretation of Jenúfa's aria by Janáček and Jan Lucemburský Prize from Mr. Geoffrey Piper.

In October 2016 she had her operatic debut as Servillia in a new production of La Clemenza di Tito at the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava. In December 2017 she sung as Barena in production of Jenůfa at the National Theatre Prague.
This year she participated in the production of La clemenza di Tito in Estate Theatre Prague with Maestro Marc Minkowski and she performed Elena in production of Paride ed Elena at the Festival "Zlatá Pecka" in Chrudim.

In 2018 she had completed her Master Degree and collaborates with many orchestras and theatres - AKAMUS, L'Armonia Terrena, Czech virtuosi, Philharmonie of Brno, Philharmonie of Zlín, National theatre Prague, National Moravian-Silesian Theatre, etc.

She often works with Czech Ensemble Baroque where she took part as a soloist in many productions and concerts (Gluck: Orfeo, Händel: Alexander's Feast, Saul, Mozart: Mass c minor, Bach: Mass b minor, Magnificat, etc.), she took part at baroque masterclass with Emma Kirkby or King Singers and she was also a participant on masterclass of Kateřina & Adam Plachetka.

Two last years she performed a solo part in the special stage production of The Mass by Leonard Bernstein.

In August 2018 she competed in prestige competition "Cesti competition" in Innsbruck and she passed to final round with other eleven singers from whole world.

In March 2019 she performed the role of Ilia in Mozart's Idomeneo in the Theatre of J. K. Tyl in Pilsen, in October she will sing the role of the First nymph in Dvořák's Rusalka in the National Moravian - Silesian Theatre in Ostrava and in November she will sing in successful production of Mozart´s Magic flute as Pamina.
